ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A 25-year-old man wanted in connection with a deadly June homicide has been arrested in Albany, according to the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit.

Authorities say Ja-Rod Jaheem Holsey was taken into custody Wednesday, Sept. 9, at an apartment on Don Cutler Drive.

The Albany-Dougherty S.I.U., along with the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Holsey on outstanding warrants connected to a homicide that happened June 1 at 1016 N. Slappey Blvd.

Holsey was wanted on charges including:

• Murder
• Four counts of aggravated assault
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Possession of drug-related objects
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
• Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement
• Failure to appear for a fingerprintable charge and probation violation

Authorities say Holsey was also found with approximately 568.8 grams of marijuana and a firearm during the arrest.

Additional charges include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities also arrested 26-year-old Kawaiya Mills, who is accused of possession of marijuana and hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

The investigation remains ongoing.
