ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — An Albany man is behind bars after a domestic dispute Saturday night left his wife hospitalized with a gunshot wound and facial injuries, according to police.

Doray Horton, 46, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, battery (family violence), and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

Albany Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Philema Road around 7:43 p.m. following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 43-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound and additional injuries to her face. Paramedics transported her to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where officials say she is currently in stable condition.

Horton was taken into custody at the scene without further incident. He is currently being held at the Dougherty County Jail.
