ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany residents are being asked to remain aware of their surroundings after an aggravated assault on Friday, Dec. 5.

According to Albany Police (APD), an investigation is underway into an aggravated assault incident in the 2300 block of Ashford Drive.

Police say the victim reported that while walking in the area, he was approached by two unidentified Black men, who pointed a firearm at him and demanded his wallet. The suspects left after discovering he did not have it. No injuries were reported, police say.

The suspects left the scene in a tan/khaki colored sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima, APD said.

APD is asking residents in that area to remain aware of their surroundings.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call APD at (229) 431-2100 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
