Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — Albany State University (ASU) has partnered with the Miss Georgia Scholarship Competition Inc. to provide future titleholders with full tuition scholarships to ASU, the university announced Friday, June 5.
The partnership ensures that future Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia’s Teen winners will be awarded full, four-year tuition scholarships to attend Albany State.
For a bachelor’s degree candidate from Georgia who takes 15 credit hours per semester, that amounts to about $20,000 in scholarship, based on ASU’s Fall 2025 rates.
ASU said that the scholarships will be stackable with Georgia’s HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships.
“We are proud to support young women who exemplify scholarship, leadership, and service, and to provide them with a pathway to excel both academically and professionally.”
Albany State offers over 50 degree programs across undergraduate and graduate levels, according to the university. ASU is also one of the largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the state.
ASU leaders said this partnership with the Miss Georgia organization reflects a belief that investing in education helps create stronger leaders and greater opportunities for future generations.
“By reducing financial barriers and increasing access to higher education, the scholarship helps ensure that young women can focus on achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals.”
The 81st Annual Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia’s Teen Scholarship Competition will take place in Columbus, Georgia, from June 17 through June 20.
