THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) – One Thomasville church hosted its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration with a walk and grocery giveaway Saturday.
Pastor Corey King with Greater Restoration Tabernacle Ministries said the church started the MLK Walk and Community Health Fair 16 years ago.

“The physicians and nurse practitioners at our ministry, at that time, wanted to start something to cultivate a lifestyle of healthy living and celebrate Dr. King’s holiday,” King said.
The event featured music, vendors, health and wellness resources, a community walk, and free groceries. Hands On Thomas County said more than 200 bags were given away Saturday.
King said this event is one way to bring the community together.
“To promote not just spiritual wellness at the church, but physical and mental and emotional wellness as well,” King said. “We want people to leave with a spirit of unity and love - that’s what Dr. King stood for.”
