ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Police Department (APD) is currently investigating a shooting that left one person injured.

According to APD, the victim was a male in his mid-20s.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Redwood Ct. and Stuart Ave. around 11:15 p.m.

WALB arrived on scene around 11:40 p.m. as EMS was leaving and observed more than a dozen APD vehicles.

According to APD, the victim was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after being shot in this incident. Police say he is currently in critical condition, but officials told WALB the victim was “conscious and breathing” when EMS transported him to the hospital.

While WALB was on scene, a vehicle with bullet holes was towed away. Police say they believe the victim was at his vehicle when he was shot.

APD is working to identify a suspect or suspects in this case.
