GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The manhunt for an armed and dangerous suspect in Grady County is over after authorities took a suspect into custody following an officer-involved shooting early Thursday morning.

According to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, William Shane Allen was arrested after an officer-involved shooting on Highway 93 between Wilder Road and Macedonia Church Road shortly after 1 a.m.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that no law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

As the investigation continues, Highway 93 remains closed between Wilder Road and Macedonia Road. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes and should expect significant delays during the morning commute.

Prior to Allen’s arrest, the sheriff’s office warned residents in the area to stay inside while deputies searched for the suspect.

The incident stems from an earlier shooting in which deputies found a woman inside a vehicle near Macedonia Road suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Authorities said the woman is expected to recover.

Investigators are still working to determine the events that led up to the shooting and subsequent officer-involved incident.
