DORAL, Fla. — Atlanta Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr. was taken into custody Saturday following a domestic incident and subsequent vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash, according to jail records.
Police responded to an altercation involving a man and woman. Pearce, 22, allegedly left the scene and subsequently wrecked his vehicle at Northwest 103rd Avenue and 66th Street, where officers apprehended him.
Authorities charged Pearce with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, along with aggravated stalking and eluding law enforcement. He remains at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center awaiting bond determination.
The 2025 first-round selection finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after tallying 10.5 sacks, a franchise rookie record since 2021.
