ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany police are warning drivers to avoid a section of Broad Avenue Saturday morning due to heavy smoke from a fire.

The smoke advisory covers Broad Avenue between the Jefferson and Jackson street intersections, eastbound, according to the Albany Police Department.

Police said hazardous smoke conditions prompted officials to urge motorists and pedestrians to stay away from the area.

The department said it will provide updates as new information becomes available
