ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A hotel in Atlantic Station was ordered to evacuate on Friday.

Twelve Midtown Hotel is experiencing a power issue that has triggered “unpotable water conditions,” according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD). Firefighters said the evacuation order will remain until clean water service is restored.

The building is also home to condominiums, but it’s unclear if residents have been evacuated. In an email sent to residents on Friday, the building’s ownership said a generator is supporting elevators, lighting in common areas and fire alarms.

Twelve Midtown also experienced power and water issues earlier this month.

“While the original restoration was on schedule to be completed tomorrow as previously communicated, this new outage is separate and currently does not have a defined timeline for resolution,” the email said.

In a statement, Georgia Power said it’s working to resolve the issue, but it can only do so much.

“We understand how difficult this has been for residents of Twelve Midtown, and feel terrible that they are managing life without electricity at their homes. Our systems are fully operational, and we are able to serve the building — this outage does not stem from any from issues with equipment owned or managed by Georgia Power and its duration is currently beyond our control,” the company said. “Power can only be restored once the landlord completes any repairs that may be needed and confirms the building is ready to receive power from us.”
