WARWICK, Ga. (WALB) - On Feb. 14, officers with the Warwick Police Department (WPD) attempted to make a traffic stop, but were led on a high-speed chase, according to a report.

Police say that a Dodge Challenger was traveling on Georgia Highway 300 around 8:50 p.m., without its headlights on, prompting police to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop, leading police on a pursuit with speeds over 130mph. The driver, Cavasia Rashaude Adams, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence.

Adams then fled on foot to a wooded area, officials say that Adams was apprehended two hours later on Ga. Highway 32 after entering a Hyundai Elantra that came to pick him up.

Adams has been charged with:

• Fleeing & attempting to elude police
• Obstruction
• Driving with a suspended license
• Speeding
• When headlights required
• Failure to maintain lane
• Improper lane change
• Open container
• Possession of Marijuana
• Reckless driving
• Hit and run
• Striking a fixed object

A female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital by Worth County EMS for minor injuries.

According to police, Adams also has outstanding warrants in numerous counties.

The case remains open.
