GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - Authorities are searching for an “armed and dangerous” suspect in the Spence Community in Grady County as of Wednesday afternoon in connection to a shooting, according to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
In a social media post around 1:50 p.m., GCSO encouraged the public to be on the lookout for William Shane Allen, who deputies say was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt.

GCSO Chief Deputy Kent Harvey told WCTV in a phone call that Allen was considered “armed and dangerous.”
The suspect is accused of shooting a female, according to deputies. Wednesday afternoon, deputies said the shooting is believed to have been a domestic dispute.
The victim was shot in the shoulder and is expected to recover.
The sheriff’s office advised the public to remain inside their homes or businesses if nearby, not to approach the suspect and to call 911 immediately with any information regarding Allen’s whereabouts.
“Multiple law enforcement agencies are in the area,” GCSO wrote in its post. The sheriff’s office also said that they have a perimeter on Allen.
The news comes an hour after the sheriff’s office announced in a separate social media post that deputies were responding to “an active crime scene” in the Spence Community.
At that time, authorities told WCTV that a shooting had taken place and that a manhunt was currently underway. GCSO also initially said that there was no threat to the public.
Residents were encouraged to avoid Stagecoach and Macedonia roads until further notice to allow emergency personnel to work.
Furthermore, motorists are also encouraged to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.
