BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB/WCTV) — A Bainbridge woman was charged for assisting after a homicide in Chattahoochee, Florida, the police department announced Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Dy’Terryiau Shantajia Alexander, a 24-year-old, was charged with being an “accessory after the fact of first-degree homicide,” Chattahoochee Police (CPD) said.

CPD said the original shooting incident occurred at an apartment complex on Friday, Dec. 26. One man reportedly died in the shooting.

The Sneads Police Department (SPD) said that on Friday night, SPD assisted CPD with a shooting. The victim was taken to Gadsden Hospital, where he died from his injuries, per the Sneads Police Department.

CPD said in a social post that the incident occurred at Flint Garden Apartments. Sneads Police said that CPD located and arrested a suspect with help from Bainbridge Public Safety and the Decatur Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Trayveontaye Cheesmon, 27, of Chattahoochee, was charged with first-degree homicide, per CPD.

“Chattahoochee Police are still actively working this investigation, and they will release more information once they have completed their investigation,” SPD said.
