BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Brooks County School System is working to clear up confusion following reports of a possible threat at Brooks County Middle School.
School officials confirmed that no threat was made during school hours and emphasized that students and staff were never in immediate danger. However, authorities later detected a threat after school hours, prompting a law enforcement response.
According to officials, one suspect is now in custody, and an official investigation is underway.
The school system also stated that if a threat were ever made during school hours, parents, staff, and students would be notified immediately.
