ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The victim of a car fire on Sunday, July 5, told police he believes someone was paid off to burn his vehicle, according to an Albany Police (APD) incident report.
The report said that a 2017 Chevy Tahoe was burned at about 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Mock Road.
The victim was reportedly only inside of a residence for about five to 10 minutes before a neighbor knocked on the door to report the fire, according to APD.
APD said that the victim reported that he had been involved in an argument about two weeks before Sunday. The victim said he believes the other party in the altercation was involved with intentionally having the Tahoe set on fire.
No arrests have been made. APD said the incident is under investigation as a first degree arson.
