ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Authorities in Lee and Dougherty counties said Saturday, May 9, that multiple suspected debit and credit card skimming devices have been recovered from Dollar General stores, and investigations are now underway.

The Dougherty County Police Department is investigating a reported card skimmer discovered on a card machine at the Dollar General located at 5731 Newton Road.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies recovered two suspected skimmers on Friday—one at the Dollar General on Highway 82 next to Turner’s Furniture, and another at the Dollar General on North Slappey Boulevard next to Wendy’s.

Officials urge anyone who shopped at these locations recently to check bank and credit card statements for fraudulent or unauthorized activity. Anyone who notices suspicious charges should report them to their financial institution and law enforcement.
