ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia enters its final week of early voting in the state’s nationally watched May 19, 2026, primaries.

More than 400,000 early and absentee ballots had been cast as of Friday, May 8, 2026. Early voting - which has already shattered its previous records - ends Friday, May 15, 2026.

Democrats continue outpacing Republicans though not at the pace as when early voting began on April 27, 2026.

This past weekend was the last for optional Saturday and Sunday voting.

All four of Georgia’s top constitutional offices are up for grabs in the Republican and Democratic primaries, including governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state and attorney general.

Federally, Republicans will choose a nominee to face Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff this fall. Three metro Atlanta congressional seats are also open: the 10th, 11th and 13th.

Democrats are also hoping to keep two seats they won in last year’s special elections on the Public Service Commission, and the blue party is also hoping to unseat two Georgia Supreme Court justices.
