ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — [UPDATE: March 11, 3:30 p.m.:] The child was returned to their guardian, Albany Police officials said at about 3:30 p.m.
No further information was released.
[ORIGINAL ARTICLE:] The Albany Police Department (APD) posted the photo of a young child they reportedly found in Albany on Wednesday, March 11, without parents or guardians.
The child was found by officers in the 1700 block of Lynwood Lane, APD said. Lynwood Lane is a residential street off of Valley Road in West Albany.

APD said they are working to identify and locate the child’s parents or guardians. They asked the public for assistance on Facebook at 2:34 p.m.
Within about 30 minutes, APD’s post had 32 comments and over 260 shares.
The circumstances of how the child wound up alone are unclear. WALB is working to learn more.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the child’s parents or guardians are encouraged to contact APD at 229-431-2100.
