DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is speaking out after making 29 arrests in a major drug trafficking operation on Thursday.
“Over the past four years, an investigation into gang activity and drug trafficking has been conducted. As of this evening, this investigation has concluded with the incarceration of 29 individuals. I wish to express my gratitude for the steadfast support of all agencies involved, which contributed to the success of this operation.”





According to a Facebook post by CCSO, Multiple agencies were involved in the operations including the Douglas Police Department, Bacon County Sheriff’s Office, Alma Police Department, Ware County Sheriff’s Office, Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Jacksonville, Florida, Southeast Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“Initiatives such as this are essential for the improvement of our community and the welfare of our children. While this operation alone will not eliminate all drug-related issues in Coffee County, it serves as evidence that when we undertake such initiatives, the citizens recognize our commitment not only to enforcement but also to the overall safety of this remarkable county. We are dedicated to serving with integrity, compassion, accountability, and professionalism.”
Six individuals are still wanted in connection to this case. Two wanted suspects were brought into custody as of Friday morning.
