LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) - Friends, neighbors and former colleagues are coming together to support the family of local educator Dr. Taylar Williams following her unexpected death in February, 2026.

WALB previously reported that Williams died earlier this year, leaving behind her husband, George Williams, and their four children. George Williams said the loss has been felt across the community.

Williams served as Dougherty County Schools’ first human resources recruitment coordinator before joining the Lee County School System, where she worked as an assistant principal.

Now, loved ones are rallying around the Williams family during this difficult time. According to Meal Train, an organized community effort to provide meals for families, the family is asking for food donations to help in the weeks ahead.

Those who would like to help can drop off cooked meals between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 205 Hedge-Row Drive in Leesburg.

Anyone who can provide a home-cooked meal is encouraged to participate.
