ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Another town hall meeting was scheduled by Dougherty County Commissioner Anthony Jones, the county announced on Friday, June 20.
This time, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will be in attendance, according to the county. The meeting will continue the discussion between Commissioner Jones and community members about safety concerns at the intersection of Liberty Expressway and Nelms Road.
The county said the second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. It will be held at the Albany-Dougherty County Government Center, which is at 222 Pine Avenue.
Dougherty County said that officials with GDOT will be available for community members to talk one-on-one with at this meeting.
I’ve heard our community’s concerns loud and clear. This meeting is a direct result of our persistence and collaboration with GDOT. I strongly encourage residents to attend, share their input and be part of the conversation on how we can improve safety for all drivers and pedestrians.
The first town hall meeting about this was held on June 3, and the second was on June 10.
