DAWSON, Ga. (WALB) — The Dawson Police Department will host its first-ever National Night Out on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Town Square behind the Terrell County Courthouse.

The free event is open to the public and will include family activities, public safety demonstrations, free food, and a back-to-school supply giveaway.

About National Night Out

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign aimed at encouraging police-community partnerships and neighborhood engagement.

Organizers said the event is an opportunity for residents to meet the officers who serve their community in a relaxed setting.
