COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Agents with the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit arrested a Telfair County man on a cocaine trafficking charge following an ongoing narcotics investigation, authorities said.

Kendall McDuffie, 42, of Eastman, was arrested July 21, 2026, after agents identified him as a suspect in a drug investigation. Agents stopped his vehicle and took him into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle turned up a plastic bag containing a large white rock substance believed to be a “cookie” of crack cocaine. McDuffie was charged with cocaine trafficking and remains in the Coffee County Jail.

Douglas Police Chief Brannen Pruette said agencies will keep going after drug traffickers.

“Trafficking narcotics into our community is not something we will tolerate,” Pruette said. “We will continue working alongside our law enforcement partners to hold those responsible accountable and protect the citizens of Douglas.”

Coffee County Sheriff Fred Cole had a direct warning for anyone bringing drugs into the county.

“Bring drugs into Coffee County, and understand one thing: you are not coming to do business,” Cole said. “You are coming to meet us. Every road leads to the Coffee County Jail.”
