ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A death investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a local hotel in Albany.

According to the Dougherty County coroner, officials were called to the Knight’s Inn around 3:46 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, in reference to a woman dead inside the hotel.

The coroner said it is currently a suspected drug overdose.

Officials have not released the name of the victim. They are working to contact next of kin.
