ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Dougherty County Police Department partnered with Albany Technical College Police and community sponsors on Saturday, April 4 to host an Easter egg hunt, according to the Dougherty County Police Department.

“Operation Easter Egg Rescue” was held at Radium Springs Gardens, according to the police department.

More than 4,000 Easter eggs were distributed across the venue for two organized egg hunts. Project Hope and Harmony donated an additional 500 eggs, according to the police department.

Families enjoyed music from a live DJ, bounce houses, games, hayrides and food truck vendors during the event, according to the police department.

A money machine sponsored by 105.5 was the crowd favorite, according to the police department. The machine allowed children to collect as many dollars as possible within a set time. Project Hope and Harmony matched the funds collected.

More than 30 volunteers helped with the egg hunt. The Dougherty County Police Department thanked all volunteers, partners, sponsors and community members who participated in the event.
