BLAKELY, Ga. (WALB) — Coach Frank Killingsworth is leaving Early County to take an offensive line job at Ashford, across the Alabama state line.

Killingsworth spent three seasons with the Bobcats. He won twice as many games as he lost during his time at Early County.

He led the Bobcats to three straight region titles. He got them over the Elite Eight hump this year and made it to the semifinals in 2025.

The move was unexpected. Killingsworth said he is close to retirement and the opportunity at Ashford was too good to pass on, the school made him a good offer, and he does not have to move.

Killingsworth is known for running the football.

Early County has a history of successful coaches. The Bobcats won a region championship before Killingsworth arrived.

The team will lose DJ Lee and Jimmy Jones, who were key players on offense and defense.
