GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - An arrest has been made in Grady County after a man was reportedly driving erratically.

According to Grady County Sherriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Feb. 11 when a driver was seen traveling at a high rate of speed, driving erratically, and passing other motorists unsafely.

Officers received the 911 call about the incident on Highway 111 S., near Monrovia Growers.

According to GCSO’S Facebook page, the caller also reported that the vehicle stopped in the roadway and the driver left the scene.

When deputies arrived they located the vehicle and conducted a search. Shortly after a male was found hiding in a nearby field at Monrovia Growers.

After giving a false name to police, the suspect was later identified as Tommy Johnson. GCSO said Johnson was operating the vehicle while driver with a suspended license. Records also revealed that the suspect had active warrants out of both Leon County and Grady County.

Johnson was placed under arrest and charged with:

• Driving While License Suspended
• Giving False Name to Law Enforcement
• Other outstanding warrants

Johnson was transported to the Grady County Jail for booking.
