BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A possible hostage situation has been resolved after the Brooks County Sherriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to an incident on 840 Belcher Rd.
According BCSO’s Facebook page, on Wednesday, Feb. 11 deputies received information that an armed individual was inside the residence.
Cody Lee Sorrell was arrested on outstanding warrants from both Georgia and Florida. Another suspect, Patricia Simmons was also arrested in connection to the incident.

Officials said the incident was brought to a safe resolution with no injures.
“We are grateful for the strong team work, communication, and professionalism demonstrated by all responding agencies, which ensured this incident was resolved promptly and safely.” BCSO said.
BCSO, Road Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations & Narcotic Division, and assisting officers from the Brooks County School Police Department assisted with the situation.
