Description

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — FanDuel Sports Network is permanently shutting down its Atlanta office, public records show.

The Colony Square office off Peachtree Street NE will lay off all 57 employees. Meanwhile, the 17 employees at Encompass Digital Media, a DeKalb County company that handles satellite and fiber transmission for many different networks, will also be let go.

The company filed the information under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, a federal law that requires companies to notify employees of mass layoffs or closures at least 60 days in advance.

The 74 total jobs being cut range from account executives and broadcast engineers to copy coordinators and associate producers. According to the notice, they will start the layoff process on April 14.

The move comes after the company has seen trouble in recent months. In January, the Atlanta Braves terminated its deal with the sports network, which used to carry the team’s local broadcasts.

The Braves were one of nine teams to end their deals, joining the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays.

It appears that FanDuel Sports Network is still producing the Atlanta Hawks games.

“FanDuel Sports Network is continuing to broadcast NBA and NHL games as we engage in discussions with our partners about our go-forward plans. While final decisions have not been made, we have issued WARN notices to employees, as required by law, in connection with potential workforce impacts that could occur in the coming months. Any and all aspects of the WARN notices can be revoked at any time. We remain committed to transparency and fair treatment of our employees,” David Preschlack, Main Street Sports Group CEO, said in a statement.

Gray Media, Atlanta News First’s parent company, simulcasted 15 Braves regular season games in 2025, reaching 15 million households in 24 markets spread across six states. The company is also set to broadcast 15 spring training games in the same fashion in 2026.

clarification: This article previously said that the layoffs impacted FanDuel. It has since been corrected to reflect that the layoffs are for FanDuel Sports Network, which is owned by Main Street Sports Group.
