AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) — A single-vehicle crash that occurred on Dec. 28 in Sumter County is under investigation, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
SCSO said the crash was on Highway 49 South. It reportedly involved a silver Lincoln MKZ sedan.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the vehicle was entirely engulfed in flames when first responders arrived.
No details were released about the context of the crash or the identities of any occupants.
As the incident is under investigation, the sheriff’s office encouraged anyone who may have information regarding the sedan to contact SCSO at (229)924-4094 or the Georgia State Patrol’s Post 10 at (229) 931-2397.
