WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — A Maryland man has been indicted on charges of threatening Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and her family, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro and Chief Michael G. Sullivan of the United States Capitol Police.
Seth Jason, a former employee of Voice of America, was arrested early this morning by U.S. Capitol Police and the Anne Arundel Police Department. He is accused of making threatening calls to Rep. Greene's District Offices in Georgia between October 11, 2023, and January 21, 2025.
The indictment alleges that Jason used various phone lines connected to studios and control rooms at Voice of America headquarters to make eight threatening calls over fifteen months. These calls reportedly included threats to use firearms to kill Greene, her staff and their families.

The charges against Jason include influencing a federal official by threatening a family member, influencing a federal official by threat, interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure and anonymous telecommunications harassment. Jason faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison for the most serious charges if he is convicted.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Capitol Police and the State Department Office of Inspector General, with assistance from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland and the Anne Arundel Police Department.
