COCHRAN, Ga. – This week’s Game Changer is Bleckley County High School senior defensive back Jireh Campbell, a leader on and off the field who’s making plays under the Friday night lights and giving back to his community.

Campbell says football has been a lifelong dream. “It feels good, amazing. I dreamed about times like this, watching it as a little kid,” Campbell said.

While he excels on the field, Campbell says academics come first. “Education is very important. Coaches always remind us that we’re student-athletes — student comes first,” he explained.

When it comes to inspiration, Campbell looks to one of the game’s greats. “Deion Sanders — Primetime. I like his confidence, most definitely. That confidence is what drives me too,” Campbell said.

So far this season, Campbell has racked up five interceptions — four in the regular season — and he says he dedicates them to his family.

“I got one for each family member,” he said with a smile. “It means a lot to make them happy. That’s my ultimate goal.” Beyond football, Campbell volunteers through his church, helping distribute clothes and essentials to those in need.

“It’s always good to give back,” he said. “What would God do? That’s what I remind myself.” With just one loss this season, Campbell says his focus is on leadership and mindset.

“Every week, we have to keep that winning mentality,” he said. As for his family, who never miss a game, Campbell has one message: “I love y’all. Thank you, because without y’all this would not be happening right now.”
