SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - Labor Day falls on Sept. 1 this year.

For Labor Day, post offices, government offices, and banks will be closed.

Grocery stores

• Aldi stores will close at 6 p.m.
• Food Lion stores will operate at normal hours
• Piggly Wiggly Food for Less stores will operate at normal hours
• Publix stores will operate at normal hours; however, the pharmacies will be closed
• Sam’s Club stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for regular shoppers

Retail stores

• Belk stores will operate at normal hours
• Burlington stores will operate at normal hours
• Home Depot stores will operate at normal hours
• JCPenney stores will operate at normal hours
• Kohl’s stores will operate at normal hours
• Lowe’s stores will operate at normal hours
• Office Depot stores will operate at normal hours
• PetSmart stores will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the grooming salon will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Staples stores will operate at normal hours
• Target stores will be open, but store hours vary by location.
• T.J. Maxx stores will operate at normal hours
• Walmart stores will be open from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Gyms

• Anytime Fitness will be open; however, staff will not be available
• Crunch Fitness in Valdosta will operate at normal hours
• Most Planet Fitness locations will operate at normal hours
• Tony’s Fitness Group in Albany will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Most YMCA locations will be closed for Labor Day. Check with your local branch.
