HOMMERVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - A Clinch County man has been sentenced to more than 24 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation, while his former wife awaits sentencing.
Crage Bernard Harris, 47, of Homerville, was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Federal officials say Harris was involved in a trafficking network connected to a Mexican source of supply operating out of Atlanta.
His former wife, Bridget Denise Harris, 53, also of Homerville, pleaded guilty to the same charge. She faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, with a possible maximum sentence of life, and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 19.
According to court documents, investigators began looking into Harris in 2022 after suspicious packages containing illegal drugs were delivered to a residence on Travis Lane in Clinch County. During a search of the home, agents seized approximately 731 grams of methamphetamine, including liquid meth hidden in bottles. Bridget Harris was observed placing the packages into a vehicle before the search.
The investigation involved the DEA, GBI, Clinch County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Federal officials say the sentencing underscores a continued effort to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in South Georgia.
