ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The advisory committee for South Georgia Technical College’s (SGTC) Horticulture program met recently on the Americus campus to discuss the program’s progress and developments in the horticulture industry.

Instructor Brandon Gross led the meeting and gave updates on enrollment, curriculum development, student involvement in the community, and other program highlights.

Advisory committee members offered valuable insight on emerging instructional methods, technology updates, and employment and internship opportunities for Horticulture students. The group also discussed realistic salary expectations for graduates entering the workforce.

Advisory committees such as this one serves as a bridge between the classroom and the workplace, which helps instructors stay current on industry trends and prepare students for successful careers after graduation.
