Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A few isolated pockets of rainfall from Tropical Storm Chantal are making their way through eastern parts of South Georgia this evening, but will move out by nightfall. Lows will dip into the low 70s under partly cloudy skies.
Sunday will remain dry as any impacts from Chantal move further north into the Carolinas. South Georgia will be dry, but hot as temperatures soar into the mid-90s. Sunshine will be abundant across the area. The evening will cool off into the low to mid-70s with mostly clear skies.
Next week, a subtropical high will keep us mostly dry through the middle of the week, leading to temperatures that heat up into the middle 90s, along with heat index values in the triple digits due to the added humidity. The highs will weaken by Thursday, leading to more seasonable rain chances as the weekend nears. Temperatures will dip slightly below average in the low 90s.
