BEN HILL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Investigators (BCSO) executed a search warrant on West Orange Street in Fitzgerald, leading to a major drug seizure involving trafficking amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Officials say the operation was the result of ongoing investigative efforts targeting illegal narcotics activity within the community. During the search, investigators recovered significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine consistent with drug trafficking operations.

Authorities report that one individual has been arrested so far and is facing multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Law enforcement officials emphasized the danger of fentanyl, noting its extreme potency and deadly impact on communities.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say additional arrests or charges may be forthcoming as the case continues.
