LAKELAND, Ga. (WALB) — Three Lanier County baseball seniors signed to continue their careers at the collegiate level.

Talen Tarbox and Drake Wolford will play NAIA ball at Georgia Southern East Georgia (formerly East Georgia State College). Grant Gano will suit up for Division I Georgia Southern.

The senior class has been a big reason the Bulldogs won back-to-back state championships.

“It’s crazy to think that we grew up together. In elementary, I couldn’t have told you we’d be here right now, but we are,” one of the players said. “It’s a big relief too. Obviously, you keep working and it’s finally paid off. Tomorrow, if we win, we win the region championship, but we all know we want another ring. We want nothing short of it.”

The senior class has won 115 games in four seasons in Lakeland and back-to-back state championships. The Bulldogs are the favorite again this season with two games left in the regular season.
