VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Lowndes County has hit it’s 200 year mark as a county, and to celebrate they will host a Birthday Celebration on Tuesday, Dec 23.

The event will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Historic Lowndes County Courthouse Lawn on 100 East Central Ave. in Downtown Valdosta.

The afternoon celebration will include:

• Cake, hot chocolate, and popcorn (available while supplies last)
• A presentation from the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners and County leadership- this will take place around 4:30 pm
• Live music
• A visit from Santa Claus from 4 pm to 6 pm

This event is free to all, and community members are encouraged to bring family and friends.
