VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Lowndes County is hosting a tree lighting this upcoming Friday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. at the historic Lowndes County Courthouse to celebrate 200 years of history, community, and progress over the years.

Members of the community can enjoy a festive lineup of bicentennial events, including performances by the Lowndes High School Viking Cantors, a visit from Santa, along with complimentary cookies and hot chocolate.

These events will take place from now all the way up until Christmas.
