ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — An investigation is underway after gunshots were reported on W. Waddell Avenue and a person was found dead Monday night.

Albany police (APD) said the incident happened in the 1100 block of W. Waddell Avenue. Officials confirmed the call came in around 9:18 p.m.

APD said officers responded to Raven Alerts of gunshots in the area. When they arrived, they found Allen Plummer, 41, who was dead at the scene.

Police said evidence confirms that gunfire occurred; however, investigators have not yet confirmed whether Plummer’s death was caused by gunfire.

The investigation is ongoing.
