ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Albany Police Department (APD) announced Wednesday, Feb. 4, that investigators have identified the deceased individual discovered in a wooded area near Rosebrier Avenue in November 2025.

Officials said the victim has been identified as Mark Gregson, 65. Next of kin have been notified of his death. Gregson’s body was found in the 2800 block of Rosebrier Avenue.

The investigation is being led by the APD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, with support from several partner agencies, including:

• The Dougherty County Coroner’s Office
• The Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office
• The Albany Fire Department

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, specific details about how Gregson died have not been released. Investigators said they are actively following leads. Officials asked for the public’s assistance.
