Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - According to the Albany Police Department (APD), a man was injured in a Monday morning shooting.

During APD’s weekly Media Monday press conference, Chief Michael Persley said the shooting incident happened in the 900 block of Holloway Avenue.

A 32-year-old man was found shot while officers were patrolling the area. Officers then saw an unknown man dressed in black come out to the courtyard and shoot into a vehicle. This led to a foot pursuit with the suspect, who was lost in the Cotton Avenue area.

During the search of the area, officers found a ski mask and a black shirt near 1030 West Gordon Ave.

Chief Persley said it’s believed that the 32-year-old man is the victim in this case.

Police are canvassing the area for any video footage near the shopping center or the area of the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact APD.
