ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man has died after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday, June 29.

According to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler, 34-year-old Javaski Frazier died after a vehicle hit him in the 100 block of Oakridge Drive, where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour.

Coroner Fowler told WALB that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Fowler told WALB that he was called to the scene at around 11 a.m.

“People need to walk in the designated area. They’re walking in the middle of the street down a highway. I mean, Oakridge, that’s a busy, busy highway. My condolences go out to the family,” said Coroner Fowler.

Albany Police Department’s (APD) Traffic Unit handled the case, according to Coroner Fowler.

According to Albany Police, the driver was not at fault and will not be charged because Fraizer was walking in the middle of the roadway.
