Description
IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A suspected methamphetamine trafficker with ties across South Central Georgia was arrested Thursday, March 5, following a coordinated law enforcement operation.
According to the South Central Drug Task Force (SCDTF) Facebook page, their agents partnered with investigators from the Fitzgerald Police Department (FPD) to track a 52-year-old suspect originally from Tifton.
Authorities say the suspect was distributing methamphetamine throughout multiple counties in the region. Around 11 p.m. that evening, officers located the suspect’s vehicle in Irwin County and conducted a coordinated takedown, bringing the investigation to a safe conclusion.

Inside the vehicle, officers also found a 25-year-old female passenger who was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine.
During the investigation, agents recovered more than three ounces of methamphetamine, along with digital scales and clear plastic baggies commonly associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics.
Authorities say the items indicate the drugs were being packaged and prepared for sale.
SCDTF thanked the FPD for its assistance and partnership during the investigation. Authorities say investigations into drug trafficking in the region remain ongoing.
