Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Ringing in the New Year on a cold note, once the ball drops tonight temperatures will be in the mid-upper 30s, bottoming out in the low 30s by early morning. Besides the cold temps, clear skies will bring good firework weather, just make sure to bundle up!
New Year’s Day features a warm up into the mid-upper 60s with mostly sunny skies. Mild afternoon temperatures in the 60s look to stay with us for the first couple of days of 2026. Besides tonight, overnight lows will be above freezing as well.
Rain is on the way for the weekend! Scattered showers will begin in the late overnight Friday/early morning Saturday time frame and stay widely scattered for the entire day Saturday. Rain moves out heading into Saturday night, dry conditions replace it for the start of next week. A few thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon, potentially bringing some gusty winds. The severe threat seems very unlikely, but stay updated as things can still change when we are this far out from the event.
Happy New Year SGA!
- Justin Williams
