PLAINS, Ga. (WALB) - A new book featuring the faith teachings of former President Jimmy Carter is now available.

More Than a President: Sundays with Jimmy Carter includes 15 Sunday school lessons taught by Carter at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, and at First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, D.C., including lessons delivered while he served as president.

The book offers readers an opportunity to engage with Carter’s reflections on faith, leadership and service. It is intended both for those who attended his Sunday school classes and for those who wished they could.

The book was edited by Maranatha Baptist Church congregant Andrew Greer. It includes a foreword by New York Times bestselling author Barbara Brown Taylor and an afterword by Carter’s grandson, Jason Carter.
