SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - A high-speed pursuit that began in Worth County ended in Tift County with a successful arrest and no reported injuries, according to preliminary findings from the Georgia State Patrol Post 13.

Authorities say the incident began around 4:26 p.m. when Worth County E911 requested assistance from Troop H Communications regarding a pursuit involving the Poulan Police Department. Officers had attempted to stop a Hyundai Santa Fe for a traffic violation when the driver fled, leading to a pursuit.

The chase continued into Tift County, where a Georgia State Patrol trooper took over as the primary unit along GA 520. The suspect traveled through several city streets before exiting the city limits.

The pursuit came to an end on GA 7 near Oakridge Church Road when the trooper executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, successfully stopping the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

Officials report no injuries or significant property damage as a result of the pursuit. The suspect is facing multiple charges, including driving with a suspended license and felony fleeing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
