DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Dougherty County Police Department (DCPD) is inviting the community to the National Night Out 2025.

According to DCPD, the event will be an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

This year’s event will feature the following:

• Free book bags and school supplies
• Free food and hygiene products
• Free giveaways and games
• Live music and more

To receive a book bag, children must be present.

“We’re proud to host this event that brings our community together,” said Chief Kenneth Johnson, Dougherty County Police Chief. “Through strong partnerships with local organizations and agencies, we’re able to provide a fun, safe environment while helping families prepare for the upcoming school year.”

Various public safety and community partners will join the police department to support the event and engage with resident. Families are encouraged to come out and enjoy this upbeat evening of fun, connection, and back-to-school support, according to DCPD.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
