CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) — One year after 19 year old Nyeasha Pickens disappeared, law enforcement says the search for answers is far from over.

July 5 marks one year since Pickens was last seen at the Enmarket on 7th Street in Cordele. Investigators recovered surveillance video showing her at the convenience store at 2:03 a.m., marking the last confirmed sighting before she vanished.

Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock is urging anyone with information to come forward, saying even the smallest detail could help investigators move the case forward.

“They either don’t want to get involved because they’re scared or they don’t want to get involved because they say it’s not me to those people,” Hancock said. “I ask you if it was a member of your family how would you feel.”

Authorities say the investigation remains active. Anyone with information about Pickens’ disappearance is asked to contact the Cordele Police Department or the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators hope a new tip could bring long awaited answers to Pickens’ family after a year of searching.
